New Orleans-Style Barbecued Shrimp

Here in New Orleans, we love seafood. Since we live so close to the Gulf Of Mexico, we have lots of great seafood options. We have developed our own style of seafood dishes with lots of great spice, flavor and texture. Today, we are sharing with you Mulate’s famous New Orleans-Style Barbecued Shrimp.

What You Need For New Orleans-Style Barbecue Shrimp

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 6 oz. Worcestershire sauce

  • 4 lemons, juiced

  • 3 tsp. Mulate’s Cayenne Pepper Sauce

  • 4 tsp. kosher salt

  • 1 tbsp. fresh ground black pepper

  • 1 tsp. rosemary

  • 6 cloves garlic, roughly chopped

  • 50 large headless shrimp, shells on

  • 1 medium onion, sliced into rings

  • 1 lemon, sliced into rounds

  • 1 loaf fresh French bread

How It’s Done

Barbecue ShrimpMaking New Orleans-Style Barbecued shrimp is very easy. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a mixing bowl, mix to combine the first 8 ingredients. Set aside.

Place shrimp in a 11X13 baking dish. Top with onion and lemon slices. Pour butter mixture over shrimp. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the dish from the oven and stir. Return to oven and bake until shrimp are pink. This dish serves about 6 people.
